A ’57 Ford 300, a ’52 Ford Customliner and a ’55 Ford Country Sedan Wagon are three of the several classic cars parked at the Wigwam Motel in Holbrook, AZ. The Wigwam Motel was the inspiration for the Cozy Cone Motel in Disney’s animated movie Cars.

In this composition, you can see the Art Deco design elements including the window “eyebrows” – the architectural term used to describe the awning-like ledges over the windows of many of the buildings in the Miami Beach Architectural District.

Early in the morning, during the blue hour, I was able to explore the Deco District of the South Beach neighborhood of Miami Beach and I was able to get a nice capture of the historic Essex House while it’s neon sign is still lit.

One of the things I love about going to the South Beach neighborhood of Miami Beach, FL, is walking along Collins Ave. and shooting all of the great Art Deco architecture, such as that found on the Marlin Hotel, of the Deco District.
